Product Description

Details

Local artist Dawn Lees Reyes has illustrated and written a series of children's books depicting Chamorro legends. The Tale of Two Lovers is a story that was developed during the time of the Spanish occupation and is about forbidden love. There is also strong reference to the loss that occurs when children of families that do not share the same social status or cultural backgrounds, find themselves attracted to each other. The famous location of the main characters' demise is Two Lover's Point, which is a cliff that juts out over crystalline waters in Tomhom (Tumon) bay. This location has been said to be a symbol of true love for the Chamorro people. The back of the book includes the templates to create your own "latte people" paper dolls.

Soft cover. 42 pages. 8.5 inches by 11 inches.
