Our 2012 calendar features one of America's most revered monuments, the USS
Arizona Memorial.
On December 7, 1941, the USS Arizona (BB39) was the most heavily damaged of all the vessels in Battleship Row.
A memorial was needed to honor those who gave their lives to their country. Several organizations and individuals helped in the effort to raise the required funds. Elvis Presley hosted a benefit concert on March 25, 1961 at Pearl Harbor's Bloch Arena, raising over $64,000.
Also, featured in this calendar is the Original Memorial blueprint from architect Alfred Preis, the construction of the Memorial, the dedication on Memorial Day 1962 and finally the USS Arizona Memorial today.
