Dr. Harry Butowsky, historian for the National Park Service, vividly recounts the mystery of radar in Hawaii and its story on December 7, 1941. Kermit Tyler, a young lieutenant from Wheeler Field, happened to be assigned to the information center at Ft. Shafter on that fateful morning. Mr. Tyler provides his interpretation of those events and talks about the controversy that still surrounds that moment. George McDonald is the son of then Pvt. Joseph McDonald who manned the telephones at Ft. Shafter on the morning of December 7, 1941. Approximately 51 minutes. Coded for Region 1, USA and Canada only.
